 TRANSPORTATION NOTE: The Sonoma Airporter has shuttles that go directly from the Double Tree to/from SFO and Oakland airports. The SFO shuttle leaves every 2 hours from 03:30 hrs, with the last shuttle at 21:30 hrs. The cost of the shuttle is $24.00 one-way.


GrayBears & Retirees We will offer an experimental "GrayBears Track" for the 2005 Conference, allowing retired park employees to have some separate events while still attending all the usual and customary functions, meetings and the banquet. Watch GrayBears for details.

Sunday March 6, 2005:

  • 10:00 AM, Overnight Field Trip, Environmental Living Program. At Angel Island State Park in San Francisco Bay, 10:00 AM Sunday to 10:00 AM Monday. $25 per person, including meals. The program takes place at Camp Reynolds, built in 1863 by the U.S. Army. You will become a soldier of the U.S. Army in 1864. You will march to Camp Reynolds as a part of the experience and sleep in an historic barracks. Bring a lunch for Sunday.
    Boat leaves Tiburon dock at 10:00 AM Sharp! Don't miss the boat.

Monday March 7, 2005:

  • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Registration & Check in
  • Golf, Foxtail Golf Club, $32 walking /Senior $24-Tee off  North course call the Pro Shop 584-7766, ext. 3 call after Feb. 23rd.
  • 11:00 AM - San Francisco Bay Kayaking: $25/person up to 30 people Meet in Sausalito.
  • 10:00 AM to12 Noon Pistol Shoot, Rohnert Park range location
  • 12:30 to 4:30 PM Wine Tasting Tour Bus, $25/person 25 person max. Tour the wine country in style; transportation, snacks and wine tasting fees included. Meet in Lobby at 12:15 PM.
  • 1:00 to 5:00 PM - Alcatraz Behind The Scenes Park Tour, $25 per person, 20 person limit, leaves from San Francisco Pier 41
  • 6:00 to 8:00 PM, California State Parks Foundation hosted Conference Reception

Tuesday March 8, 2005:

  • 8:30 to 9:30 AM, Welcome & Plenary Session
  • 9:00 AM, Silent Auction Opens Today
  • 9:30 to 11:30 AM, Training and Education Sessions
  • 9:30 to 11:00 AM, GrayBears Discussion, Retirement Tips & Tricks
  • 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Luncheon, featuring speaker from Parks Online Resources for Teachers and Students (PORTS)
  • 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, Training and Education Sessions
  • 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, GrayBears Guided Tour, Jack London SHP, 1:30 meet in Lobby
  • 6:30 PM, Interactive Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Limited seating for a complete dinner while you solve the murder. Michele's Italian Restaurant, Santa Rosa in the Railroad Square. $52.00, incl. tax/tip. The evening will be well worth it!

Wednesday March 9, 2005:

  • 5:00 PM, Silent Auction closes, Pick up and pay for items at 5PM please!
