 Tent camping and RV parking available at Mono Vista RV Park -- make reservations early for RVs.  Several motels in Lee Vining are offering special rates.

Get the whole insider’s tour and a great program at the CSPRA Conference & Retirees Rendezvous Sept. 24 - 27, Monday through Thursday, all for only a $35 per person registration fee!  Retirees need not be CSPRA members to participate.

Monday Sept. 24:  Early Arrival:

  •  3-4 pm – Mono Lake Scenic Area Visitor Center tour.
  •  4:00-4:45pm - Author Dave Van Cleve on his new book A Greatness of Spirit about field rangers  and the parks where they left their hearts.  (confirmed)
  •  5pm – Hospitality Session at the Scenic Area VC patio in Lee Vining, followed by no-host dinner at  Epic Cafe, Lee Vining's newest dining sensation.

 

Tuesday Sept. 25:  Field Trips!  Meet at the Mono Vista RV Park

  • 9:30am-12pm - Tufa walk at Mono Lake-- State Park Interpreter Dave Marquart
  • 9:30am-12pm - Birding / Hiking in Lundy Canyon with Janet Carle

LUNCH ON YOUR OWN

  •  1:30pm-4pm:  June Lake Loop with brewery tour:  Dave Carle & Nora Livingston
  •  1:30pm-4pm:  Yosemite High Country, moderate/difficult hike at 10,000 feet. Janet Carle & Karen Amstutz
  •  5pm-7pm - Hospitality & Potluck at Community Center, All utensils provided, no BBQ grill, but large oven and stove available for use, plus a large refrigerator
  •  6pm - Potluck Dinner at Community Center
  •  7pm - Judge William Alsup, Honorary Ranger 1993

                Historic Save Bodie! Campaign and Reunion (tentative)

 

Wednesday Sept. 26:

  •  8:30-9:00 am - Pancake breakfast at LV Community Center
  •  9:00-12pm - Meetings at the Lee Vining Community Center.  Update on Mono Lake from Dave Marquart, State Park Interp Specialist , New Bodie Book by Photographer Will Furman, Putting California on the Map by author Dave Carle, Director Lisa Mangat
  •  12am-1pm - Catered lunch at Community Center with Awards presentations
  •  1-3pm - CSPRA Membership Meeting
  •  3pm - Leave for Bodie (Car pool, bring warm clothes and sturdy shoes)
  •  4-5pm - Tour of Bodie,
  •  5-7pm - Hospitality session and Western BBQ (Brad and Terri)

 

Thursday Sept. 27:

  •  8:30-9:30 - Continental breakfast at group camp
  •  10am-12pm Board meeting at RV Park.
