California State Parks’ Personnel Office would like to share an exciting new program with State Park employees and retirees.
The State Personnel Board (SPB) has created a new program, Boomerang, https://boomerang.ca.gov/, connecting State Departments looking for experienced workers with retired state employees seeking work.
This new program will provide both Retirees and hiring Supervisors/Managers with a job matching tool to find an experienced Retiree for a specific job/classification.
Information stored on a database allows:
~ State retirees to enter information regarding their employment history, education, skills,
and employment goals. The retiree can add, edit, and delete their information via a secure logon and password combination.
~ Participating state department staff to search for interested retirees to fill job openings.
The benefits to California State Parks and the State of California are:
~ Ready access to experienced workers that are available to fill your temporary hiring needs.
~ Saving you time and effort in locating retired annuitants that can meet your temporary employment needs.
~ Matching your needs with the talents of retirees.
If you are interested in signing up as a Retiree or a Supervisor/Manager, you can register online. https://boomerang.ca.gov/sd_register.aspx
All registration requests will be reviewed and approved/denied by the Department Administrator, Jennifer Crockett.  Once approved, you will receive an email confirmation allowing you access.
View the Frequently Asked Questions page at https://boomerang.ca.gov/faqs_sd.aspx for more information.
Thanks,
