| CSPRA selected Joseph C. Houghteling as a 1966 recipient of the Honorary Ranger award, for his many years of commitment to the protection and preservation California's State Parks.
Joe served as an active and productive Chairman of the California State Park Commission in 1964. Later, as President of the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission, pursuant to the Nejedly-Bagley-Z’berg Suisun Marsh Preservation Act of 1974 (SB 1981), he helped produce the Suisun Marsh Protection Plan. |
