Honorary Ranger Dunshee Dies
California has lost Verna Wood Dunshee, one of the California
State Park Rangers Association's most honored Honorary Rangers.
Mrs. Dunshee was an early campaigner for the Point Reyes National Seashore, and lobbied tirelessly for preservation of Mt. Tamalpais, Stinson Beasch, Angel Island, Samuel P. Taylor State Park, Tomales Bay and the bird sanctuary at Richardson Bay.
She exemplified the spirit of Honorary Ranger during her entire lifetime. Her selfless contributions to mankind's benefit will always be remembered.
