CSPRA selected Petey Weaver as a 1971 recipient of the Honorary State Park Ranger award, for her many years of commitment to the protection and preservation California's State Parks.
Petey was often singled out as the agency's first female Park Ranger, working at Big Basin Redwoods. She has written several accounts of her career, most notably, "Them Were The Days", and a children's book, "Frosty the Racoon."
