March-April Wave Newsletter

GrayBears
Retired Park Professional List Server
by Jeff Price, CSPRA Webmaster
GrayBears is an idea spawned in at the CSPRA-sponsored Retiree's
Rendezvous at McConnell SRA last October. We were discussing the
need for a method to keep retirees better informed. Several people
at the rendezvous event had not known about special events like
the Tomales Bay SP 50th anniversary and recent retirement parties.
They would have attended or at least sent a story or congrats,
if they only knew. We discussed the development of a retired DPR
"list server." The idea was planted and GrayBears was
born!
The CSPRA-sponsored List Server is to open communication for retired
California State Park professionals The e-mail based list server
automatically sends messages to every member of the group. You
don't have to do anything but open e-mail. Only members can send
e-mail and attachments are not allowed, so the site is VERY secure
and SAFE, and if you don't like it you can unsubscribe with a
mouse click.
To keep up on current events and request membership in the FREE
and EASY to use GrayBears, just go to the CSPRA Internet site
at www. cspra.com
and click the GrayBears logo, or even easier, just send your name
and e-mail address to GrayBears@
cspra.com and we'll do it for you.
There are almost 75 retirees signed up as of April 1st. If you
know of a retired DPR employee with e-mail who may be interested
in this new communication tool, please forward this to them.
